I used to belong to a club that had the rifle range backstop up against a steep hillside about 30 feet high. Directly at the top of the bank is a public road. No idea how they ever got permission for that set up. As far as I know they are still using it. I never shot on it. They had a nice archery 3D course I used.
Was the he road there first ? Years back I belonged to a gun club that had been there for over 75 years. Tall terms and banks with nothing behind them for miles. Then along came some developers and created some neighborhoods about a mile behind our berms. Then those little communities filed lawsuits against the gun club.....these went on for years, one after another even though the club was grandfathered in as being there first.....the lawsuits kept coming until the club almost went bankrupt. They gave up and severely restricted and limited the range operations until it wasn't worth the trouble anymore. I moved to the country and built my own range.

Road was there first. You can literally see the cars driving past plain as day.

Same thing happens to airports. Build them miles from anything. People move into the area and start complaining about the noise. Many mew rules are created for the airport and it eventually closes.

Yeah, up here a lady bought property, built a house, fully aware that the gun range was 1.5 miles away. And she works for the dnr. The house is not in line with the range at all. But she was sending a petition around to make them move the range as the noise was too much. Wtf? Nobody sighed her petition! I use that range myself, and it’s out in the national forest miles from anywhere.

That’s happened here as well. They didn’t get very far with their complaints. The gun club opened in 1911 and is still going strong.

When I lived in Nelson there was the Cable bay rifle range then some rich cnut from scotland moved in and in the end he got it shut down . He only lived there for 6 months out of the year.
I was once at a local range (go pick up the key sort of access ) but in spite of all the flags and signs ,while shooting at 600yards (308win) I had a family of 4 pop up and go inspect the targets that not 30 seconds ago I had been putting holes in , and wouldnt you know it was all my fault ....they rang the police ....who attended and much to my delight (an relief ) rounded on the family , the cop really lost his 5hit at them ......while I watched .....not smirking at all 😁

I saw similar stupidity when I was spraying crops. A lawyer bought a farmhouse in a cornfield then complained about noise the farm equipment made. There isn’t much quiet on farm ground because it is industrial. Tractors, combines, trucks, spray rigs and cropdusters all make a lot of noise. Heaven forbid there may be animals and their noises and smells.

I had an interaction with a crop duster. My wife and I were on the motorcycle traveling across Kansas. We were in some serious farm land and a plane seemed to come out of nowhere. I saw the dusting equipment and figured we were going to get doused. Guy was very cool. He flew right above us and flanked us for a few miles. Giving us a tip of the wings when he went back to his job. Was a pretty neat experience.
That same day we experienced the sights, sounds, and smells of a HUGE feedlot. I kinda felt bad for that livestock.

In 70’s they sprayed my neighborhood for mosquitoes with helicopters. You had to try and run for cover when you heard them coming. Sometimes you would get lucky and sometimes you get sprayed.

No luck so far with havaheart trap, I set it with peanut butter several days ago. I figure they're not wanting food as there's plenty of nuts around. Guess I'm back to shooting at them.

One time my mom had a squirrel in her attic. I bought a trap and caught it. I then took it for a ride and let it loose.
A friend later told me that I could have been arrested by the Wildlife cops for “trapping“ a squirrel. So what is the correct thing to do ? Shoot it in the attic?

Some times you need to prebait the area then prebait the trap before you set it. Confidence thing with the rodents.

Do not release the animal alive, no laws broken. Any wildlife management company tells you that the animals are release elsewhere is lying. Only thing that is releasable is bats.

In the late 60's , Louisiana, they "air bombed" for fire ants. Some type of "pellet"
The cool thing was they used B-17's.....and they flew low, my guess was less than 1000', probably close to 500'.

for mosquitoes they used a fogger truck that came down the streets.....supposedly wasn't harmful to humans....lol.l😳

Careful shooting in the attic. An architect that drew up plans for one of our buildings approached me one day and asked if I would fix his roof on his house. Darn fool used a 12 ga.😂 One of our carpenters went and fixed it.
