rmv a water pump

i have a 77'johnson javlin 85hp with a suspect water pump failure. i have never tore into an outboard motor; is this something i can attempt to repair myself or should i send it out? i have some mechanical skill. what do y'all think?<br />

It's not that hard with a manuale the first time give it a shot

You can do it. But as Wesal1 says, get the shop manual. It WILL pay for itself.
