Riser Removal w/ Remote Oil Filter Attached

My 4.3GL port riser needs to be inspected, and has the remote oil filter bracket attached to the two front riser bolts. What is the procedure for taking that off the riser, without damage so it is not just flopping around there and maybe cause a difficult oil line leak repair?

You should be able to secure the remote filter bracket to another part of the engine while taking off the exhaust elbow, etc.. The hoses leading up to the fittings are flexible and should accommodate some temporary movement.

That's good to hear. I had heard that the hose connections' crimps were a weak spot.

Use a zip tie and tie off the filter to the alternator
