I have remove the powerhead of my Evinrude 4,5HP, I got a Johnson 4,5 HP now and has 100-105 PSI on both cylinders. That 4,5 Evinrude had 50 PSI on the top and 70 on the bottom cylinder. Engine was overheating even if the water was coming out well fromm pee hole. It was running not bad the first 10mins but after badly and would'nt restart if stoped.

I'd like since I like to play in mechanic to replace the pistons rings but I wonder what tools to use to put the new rings in. I think I have to hone the cylinders but i'm not there yet.

These small outboards are so rare and expensive because they have 2 cylinders and are not noisy and vibraty compare to the new 4-strokes single cylinder outboards.

The first thing you need is an OEM Service Manual for the correct model number. There will be detailed instructions for overhaul in there.

Yes, those outboards are very much in demand, because they are the best small outboards ever made, by anyone. They are well worth restoring or at least keeping them in top shape.
