Re: Reupholster Cockpit

Im just going to stand my ground on the no dog issue. Too much work and I don't want to pay $2K so Phido can keep us company on the boat.

You are going to lose so agree before becoming emasculated. Besides, my buddy weighs 27 pounds and has never scratched anything on the boat.
Get a good pup and get him on the boat. There will be days when you REALLY want to take the pup and hope the wife stays home. Best company you can have. Buster is coming with me tomorrow ~ just us guys.

I've always had dogs on the boat. It depends on the size of the dog about how much you need to worry about the seats. With the bigger lab the key was towel placement to keep his nails from doing damage. We actually used a kitchen rug tucked into his entry/exit spot that worked perfect.

My 2 dogs now weigh about 20 pounds each and I don't worry about anything with them. They won't jump from the bank into the boat so I have to pick them up (rinse paws) and then put them in. I don't think they have enough weight on them to really do damage to the seats.

There WILL be hair on the seats and floor. Nothing like the bright white to bring that out.

The girlfriend wants to bring these on board this.

I keep telling her it isn't never going to happen

Haha, yeah, I'm a big dog person and I can understand where you are coming from. Those two might be a handful. Mine are about 1/4 the size and I have to work to keep that hair cleaned up in the cabin.

My girlfriend spoils the dogs when we leave them at home. The Pet Hotel bill often out paces my fuel bill for the weekend. I didn't quite get why it was so expensive until when I dropped them off once the girl told me what movie they were going to watch... We had a chat at that point (FYI - they still get a TV). Pick and choose the battles right????!

I've ONE and he is only 27 #. With those 2 I may be on your side.

LOL! My daughter leaves her dog at doggie camp when she goes away. She could almost stay in a decent hotel for the same cost.

Im going to keep on fighting the good fight. No dogs on the boat. She already gets away with bringing the cat.

our cat love the boat. Sits either on the cockpit table face to the breeze or behind me on the back of the helm seam, helping pilot.
