Old boats arent like old cars and trucks, there are very few repro parts and none for Aerocraft that I know of.

Motor adaptability? It has a max capacity rating (whether the tag is still present or not) and any motor that falls under that can be used.

Almost 100% certain its got cable and pulley steering, or at least it did originally, no idea what it might have now. Its nearly 70yrs old if its a 48.

Post pix when you can.

Theres a little info here

I've been collecting Aerocraft photos and into at http://www.aerocraft-boats.org/

A list of pages with photos of "D" models: http://www.aerocraft-boats.org/models/D.html
(DD means "deluxe", with a deck)

You can also look at "AD" (12ft) models for ideas: http://www.aerocraft-boats.org/models/A.html

I don't have very much in the way of confirmed date/serial numbers for the early years.
One of the strongest indicators of a pre-1950 boat is that the transom height will be less than 15 inches!

It seems like boats were rigged for the customer, so it's hard to know what "original" might have meant for a given boat. In the 1960 era, it seems like much of the hardware came from Taylor Made.
