restoring a 71 starbuck

its my first. i just might be over my head with this. but what the hell.
whats the best way to remove panit off of fiberglass?

Ayuh,.... With a Sander,.... Why ya wanting to take it Off...
If it ain't fallin' off the boat,... Sand it Smooth,+ repaint right over it....

its cracking in spots. im asking becase its fiberglass. i dont want to sand to much of. plus i dont no what im doing..

Ayuh,...
Is it Paint on the fiberglass or the gelcoat coloring Of the fiberglass you're taking about,..??

Spider cracking can be filled with a fairing putty,+ sanded out..

In a nutshell,... Create as Smooth a surface as you Can,.... Then prime, sand,+ Paint it....
