Requesting info on a Merc 75HP - 4 cylinder

I was thinking of buying a fishing boat that has a 75HP mercury on it. When I looked at the engine tag, part of it was missing and the only info I have on it is the serial number, which is A190719. This engine has power trim and doesn't have oil injection. This boat is being sold by a widow and she doesn't know anything about it nor does she have any on the paperwork for the boat or engine.

Do anyone know how I can find what year this engine was made in and some info about it? (such as RPM range, Fuel\Oil ratio, maintence schedule, etc.) An owner's manual would be great if anybody can send one to me, especially if it could be emailed to me or if I can download it from the web.

Thanks for any info.

It's a 1985, you can't download manuals as for as i'm aware, you can buy order them on this site for about $30 US, but I guess thats no good to you if you just want to check out specs before you buy it.

I have a similar engine. I have purchesed repair a repair manual on line from Amazon, com. The Serial number when used on the Mercury engine web site will allow you to get part information. The engine will be damaged if Ethanol fuel is used, so says the owner's manual. Will that be a problem for you? I can still get non Ethanol fuel because it is available in the neighboring state. But this is a pain.

I sure hope you don't believe that manual. There are many thousands of old motors out there purring right along on ethanol gas.
