I am looking for insight on replacing 2 318's with 2 ...4 cylinder 140's in my 78 31c Silverton, aside from the obvious weight and mounting issues ... would it be a possiabity ?

Re: repowering options

Sure, anything is possible, with enough $100's thrown at it...but you might be happier with 4.3's

It's basically a complete engine replacement, including motor mounts and some glass work. You may need to change the transmission ratios (I'm assuming this is an inboard).

The four cylinder engines are going to deliver substantially less power than the 318s.. as has been stated, consider some v-6 vortecs for both a power upgrade and better fuel efficiency.
