Re: replacing trim motor on 84 mercury 150
While trying to sort this out, I've discovered that, due to the pattern of the mounting bolts to transfer the cartridge pump to the new motor, the pump was actually spun around 180? inside the unit. Would this cause the trim to not operate properly? How should the pump be oriented? (Ill accompany this post with pics hopefully tomorrow)
I find it odd that I had no problems other than a leakdown before changing the motor. After changing the trim motor it doesn't wanna raise. The only thing tampered with was the cartridge pump and the motor, and new fluid. Replaced the o rings around the cartridge pump, but they looked fine. Took the cylinder apart, they all look fine too. Haven't tested it since replacing pump o rings, but it bothers me I haven't found anything apparently wrong. I'm ready to get back in the water
