replacing trailer jack

Hello I have a 1993 V/M trailer that needs the jack replaces it goes through the trailer at the tongue.The trailer has surge brakes and the line will be in my way when i go to grind off the weld to get the old jack off can i disconnect the brake line will it cause the brakes to lock up on the trailer how do 9i bleed them after i get the new jack put on and the line reconnected i appreciate any help on this matter.

If you really need to take off the brake line your can it not that big a deal.
You would blead them the same way you do every year when dong yearly maintenance.
Jack up the wheel with the brakes and put a bar in the ball area and have one person put presure on the master cylinder while you let the fluid out at the wheel cylinder. Some people use the reciever with the ball on it just not connected to the truck.

Ayuh,......

Or you can Bleed'em by Yourself,.......

Block the wheels, both front,+ back......
Make SURE the Resv. is Full.......
Back slightly against the blocks,... Set the parking brake, then go back,+ release the bleed screws, tighten them,....
Roll ahead against the forward blocks, hesitate, then back against the rear blocks,+ Repeat as necessary........
