I bought this boat about three month ago and I knew of this problem and i plan on fixing it now. I have taken it on the water multiple time and i dont see the transom flexing or acting like its flimsy. The transom has one small peice of plywood the aluminum hull then another peice of plywood. The major rotting is on the inside peice of plywood around the upper drainage holes. This peice is both rivited in and is welded in by the aluminum brackets. Ive attached photos and I would like to hear what you guys suggest. Thank You!

Welcome to iboats!

We have no idea where you are located but if it is not flexing wait until off season to do the repair.

Yes, I can see by the pictures that the spashwell was not sealed properly and is getting punky. You should consider replacing the entire transom wood OR you might be able to salvage that area with epoxy (The wood MUST be dry) and put in a new splashwell drain.
