I have a 1994 aluminum 18ft spectrum with a 115hp o/b and the transom getting soft was wondering if anyone knew a ballpark price on getting it replaced it is a welded top cap with no inner skin and the transom does not go all the way to the floor

are you asking how much it would cost a DIY'r or how much you would pay to have it done?

for me, a case of beer to my buddy with a portable aluminum weld setup, a sheet of 3/4" plywood and some tite-bond III and it would be done over the weekend.

if you take it into a shop somewhere, about $2k

115 hp will rip apart that old aluminum . Miles from land ??
How perfect are all the other welds & rivets ? Might sleep better with a better hull ?
