I have a Humminbird HDR600 in my 96 cobalt 190. The settings on the shallow alarm and Keel offset will not reset from their maximum settings. I am at my wits end with Humminbird Tech support.
If I just replace the HDR600 unit with a new HDR650, will the existing transducer plug into the new 650 unit and work?
The existing 600 unit reads the depth fine. The Keel offset and shallow alarms being set at 10' and 20' is the only problem.

Re: Replacing a Humminbird HDR600 with HDR650

I found a solution to the problem. The HDR models in the cobalt boats are HDR Rear Mount (RM) models. The original HDR200RM had been replaced with a HDR600RM. The 600 requires a toggle switch. Not a push button like the 200. Their are 3 wires that run to the switch for a HDR600RM. The white wire that allows the switch to lower any set points was connected to the power supply ??????
So I installed a toggle switch and conected the wiring properly. All is good.
Just thought I would post this in case it might help someone else.
