Replacement windshield - '64 Arkansas Comet Traveler

Hey all,

I have a 1964 Arkansas Comet Traveler in need of a windshield.

I tried the customwindshields.com website, but apparently it's down. (I tried the site both from home and at work with the same results.)

Any other suggestions?

You're going to have a difficult time locating that windshield. Do you have a windshield frame for it and need the glass, or do you need the whole setup? You can try the usual stops - Craigslist, Ebay, and Fiberglassics wanted section.

I ran into the same problem with a '56 Glassmagic I rebuilt. I ended up making my own out of some lexan and aluminum channel. It wasn't difficult to do, it just took a bit of time. I made a small jig out of wood and slowly bent the channel to the shape that I wanted.

Anything new you would buy will be VERY expensive. If you have the frame you may be able to make a new one yourself using lexan. There are some members on here that have done that. I personally lucked out and bought a used one on eBay dirt cheap and even though it was not at all similar to the exiting one it worked out great. If you have a closed bow you might be able to bow out a standard bowrider windshield and have it fit like I did. See below:

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, I already tried eBay. I took a look at Craigslist, too. But nothing there.

My boat has a windshield, but it's not the correct one. Whomever had the boat before me installed a windshield from a different model. So, it "works." But, given I'm semi-restoring this craft, it would have been nice to have teh exact replacement.

As I mentioned to my lovely bride, "There are probably hundreds of 'Comets' sitting in garages/yards all over the country! Maybe someone will read here I just need a windshield!"

Oh well...

I'll give Fiberglassics a shot.
