replacement for rochster 2bbl

I was wondering my grandfather has a boat with a chevy v6 inboard on it with a rochester 2bbl carb 17083110, and i was wondering if there was a replacement I could use instead like a holley? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

so is there something wrong with your rochester? sorry i don't know which one by the number....

i have a rochester 2gc on my 75 165hp L6 and like it.... easy rebuild as carbs go. myself. i like to stick with oem stuff as 'for me', i find it the easiest for me to tune as i can do it by the book.

let us know some of the answers to the question in sticky #1 and go from there.... lots of info in that sticky too. a real good read..
