Replaced the shift cable and a simple outdrive stand

The shifting on my 1990 Four Winns got so bad that I had to change the shift cable before the season was over. I lubed up the cable with Ruglyde (tire mounting lube) and was able to feed it through with no help from the inside. I got a kit that had everything, but the bellows and gimbal bearing were fine so I left them alone. I had tweaked my back and didn't want to pull the outdrive by hand so I made a stand. Most of the ones I saw looked too complicated. Hope this helps someone.

I like it. Simple and practical. However I don't think it will work in my gravel driveway 😟

Nice job, I made one like that 15 years ago then upgraded to a real outdrive jack from Stumpy's Fab works. I use my original one to store my spare Cobra. When you have an OMC it's good to have spares, lol.

I was able to do the job by myself with the dolly. I got my wife to help me the last time and her fingers got mashed (thought I would never hear the end of that).
