Repair or plan on replacing motor?

My 97 Yamaha 115 TLRV, is showing it's age and probably a little lack of maintenance / care from the previous owner. The steering bracket assembly is really starting to corrode especially where the steering arm bolt goes thru. I see the part alone is around 500 or so bucks and I don't think this is something I'd tackle myself so what do you think this repair would run at a shop? Looks like a major tear down to replace it. My quandry is at what point should I cut this thing loose and replace it? I'm not the first owner so have no idea how many hours are on it, it's run in salt alot and who knows what problems there would be in the repair (stuck or corroded parts etc) and it's starting to look rough despite my best efforts to keep it up. On the other hand it runs great and has been very dependable. What do you think?

are you nuts?
that tiller is barely broken in.
do nothing and it will last another 10 years.
clean it,ospho it then paint it? maybe 15 to 20 years.
trust me, its about surface rust not near any issue rust.
I wish most the engines I deal with had tillers that looked that good.

Well in that case I'll look into cleaning it up... thanks Rodbolt.
