Since the rivets are for sealing a hole, countersunk rivets are an option.

Countersink until the rivet is flush. If you plan on painting the hull a little filler would make the rivet invisible. There are countersunk pop rivets, too. But the hole for the shank and back side needs filling if they aren't closed heads.

Its a 1985 5.0 meter. Yes that's what it's called - from the meter series by Grumman.

I will get back to this project shortly and post some more pics. I'm currently about to water test a 1986 Offshore cathedral hull 15 ft fiberglass boat that Ive been working on ( new motor new trim new controls electronics etc ) When I say new I mean used and just new to me. Also I was given this little 1965 Starcraft over the weekend. So I expect this will be worked on along side the Grumman.
