I have a lot of smoke under cowling . Do i have to remove engine to get to exhaust gasket or can i remove midsection from under motor and remove exhaust that way. There is nothing in my book about this. I have a 1997 mercury force 40hp elpt.
If it's the exhaust plate on the side of the power head it may come off by just taking the bolts out. If it's the gasket under the power head you have to pull the power head off.
