Hello everyone.
Is there anyone who with their own experience or from similar jobs can be helpful here?
The question is whether you have to remove the Bell Housing (flywheel housing) in order to change the bearings on the primary shaft?
It is a Volvo Penta KAD44P and the drive is DP290-e.
I have found a drawing on the volvo pentas site (see attached) which illustrates the parts. It indicates that there is only one bearing and it would therefore like to be possible to be able to take this out from the back? But is this something you have experience with or do you have to remove the Bell housing (flywheel housing)?
I've read around on different sites and it's a question that comes up again and again - just with slightly different drives and motors. Unfortunately, until now, I have not found any thread where it specifically deals with a KAD44p and 290 drive.
Does anyone have experience with removing the bearing from the outside - but especially only if it is the model with 1 bearing and not 2.
So I'm hoping that there is someone who, from their own experience or similar, knows whether this model can be done from the outside (dismantling the drive and pulling the bearing backwards) or whether you have to go through the big trip... ???
Thank you
