Remote Oil Filter Kit

Thinking of installing remote oil filter kit on my twin 1987 5.7L merc. engines. Would like some input as to the reliability of such units. Are they prone to leakage or oil pres. issues?

Good quality OEM kits are fine, the cheap aftermarket pot metal kits have killed many a marine engine.

Many years ago I built up my own 'remote oil filter kit'. I used good quality fittings and hose and haven't had any problems with it. I guess that's my way of saying I agree with what Don's saying about quality.
