Re: Reels

I think I'd like to give the revo xs a try. Although the bass pro link provided listed it as out of stock, gander listed it in stock for $169. I guess some price shopping is in order.
Thanks for the sugestions.

Re: Reels

My favorite (by far) is a Curado (200B?) that I bought about a month ago (used) from Craigslist for $50. New they list at $159 (although a friend just got two from Gander for $100 ea on clearance). I am relatively new to bait casters, but the Curado is awesome. BTW, I prefer left hand crank, even though I am a right handed person.

I got the Curado in the 300 model for trolling with lead core. I liked it better than my Diawa Luna 300 so I took the lead core off it and I'm using it on the down rigger with straight mono. Its a nice smooth running reel and holds a ton of line. That part lets me put a lighter line on it and let the fish run until they're tired as long as I'm in open space. I'll spool it with heavier braid when I start fishing the winter run in the rivers. The Luna and my old Bantam 50 will be my lead core reels now.

The Revo is a nice reel too. I think I said earlier that the word on the street is that Abu is finally stepping up to the plate and becomming a player again after a few years of not so good products.
