DId a complete engine rebuilt on my 95 Yamaha GPIII. Rings, pistons. seals, bearings....
Details:
Motor Turns over fine
New Compression readings: 135 Front cylinder; 140 Rear Cylinder
We have spark on both cylinders
Won;t fire even with starting fluid in the cylinders
Verified the Stator marks were lined up when we put the cover back on
Bled the oil pump

WHen I re-connected the computer. I did brown to brown, red/white to red/white. THere are two greens, but we were sure we connected them right..

Do the green wires drive the spark plugs? Could the plugs be firing at the wrong time?
We think the battery might be weak.

I've rebuilt 2-strokes before...not my first rodeo. What am I missing here?

if you have spark, do you have proper timing?

got fuel?

I have 1/2 tank, should be fine on gas. J

Jetski won't even fire even with starting fluid in cylinders. Stator marks were lined up when we buttoned up the cover.

Any advice on how to check timing?

is the fuel getting to the cylinders?

the manual has step by step troubleshooting on timing.

Wouldn’t use starting fluid on that. Especially after a rebuild.
Anyway. I’d make sure the fuel filter is going the right way. Easy to get the direction of the fuel travel wrong.
I’d also pull the plugs and turn her over first with the throttle full open, then with it only a little open.
Prime the carbs too. Make sure they are getting fuel. Are they set up for mixture too ? Have you still the oil lines going to them ? Or are they blanked off ?
