Hi all
Well after alot of headaches with trying to get the old girl running properly rebuilt carbs, going through all electrics ect ect
After buying a new compression tester and getting low comps 80 75 70 ive just pulled the powerhead down.a few broken bolts in the process and after seeing the internals the motor has definitely been cooked before, although there is no major damage or wear this engine has never been apart.
My question is do I go straight to 20 thou over pistons or 10 thou?there is no scoring in the barrels and just a fine lip, also the exhaust internal deflector plate has corroded slightly does this need to be put back in or not.
Any other info about rebuilding would be appreciated
Cheers

I think you'll need to have the bores mic'd (the full length) to determine how far out they are, then re-bore accordingly. I took mine to a machinist who had the right tools to get that done, and also did the boring.

Need to have cylinders "miked' to see how much wear and out of round they are. Need to find a piston supplier also as not offered aftermarket...likely NOS parts.

Newer pistons can be used.----But wrist pin bearing kits must be used.----Or newer connecting rods can be used.----Here where I am parts are available.

-Make sure that the Florida place ( mastertech ? ) fully understands that you have a 1970 model 3 cylinder 60 HP.----I do not have a lot / any international shipping experience.----I do send out parts locally.---I think I do have some of those bearing kits should they be a stumbling block for you.
