First off, I?d like to say that this is a great site. Being a first time boat owner, I have learned a lot just reading through old posts.
Anyway, my question has to do with the correct (and easiest) reassembly order of the bellows and shift cable assembly. What is the best order to do this? I?d hate to do something only to undo it because it was out of sequence. Usually this knowledge only comes from experience.
I?m thinking the best order would be??.
1. Attach water hose to elbow above gimbal bearing housing
2. Attach ujoint bellow to gimbal housing
3. Attach exhaust bellow below gimbal housing
4. Attach shift cable bellow
5. Attach water hose to bell housing
6. Attach exhaust bellow to bell housing
7. Run shift cable thru bell housing and bellow into engine compartment
8. Attach bell housing to gimbal ring
9. Attach ujoint bellow inside bell housing with ring
I?ll be working on it this weekend, so any advice, comments, missed steps or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
