Sounds like you might have a bit of wood decay going on down there.

It's best to just do it right the first time. A temporary fix might hold up but why take the chance? With the mount being settled like that your driveshaft alignment will be off and can damage the coupler and splined shaft if ran to long.

Sorry b .. there is no quick fix.

IF you want to restore .. then start looking for ways to remove the cap/deck.

Im sure your going to find most everything need replacement ( You might be lucky though ).

If you tear into it you might be able to still enjoy a little bit of summer but I agree, no quick fix. I would pull the motor and drive. Drill test the transom and stringers, check if foam is dry and start cuting and grinding to fix her up.

From the pics .. I see no way to use this as the mounts are Completely GONE ..

Not a safe boat here .. without mounts that can actually mount to something solid..

Boat is non-usable until the mounts are secure ..

I agree, I should of been clearer.
I would start the resto right away if he wants to enjoy a little bit of the summer.

Re: rear motor mounts sunk into stringer

yes........there is a quick fix if you want to use the boat the rest of the season.

its complicated....and will take a full day or two for a first timer.....

remove drive....
remove the 4 mounts of the motor.....(im speaking of a merc or volvo...if its am omc.......scrap the whole project)
lift motor till you can get under it with room to spare.
install 1 inch ply on edge beside current stringer/mount at correct height.
make the plywood so it rests on the bottom of the hull....contoured to the shape of the bottom.....take your time and cut, shape it properly
glass that in to the old stringers
bolt the angle iron thru the plywood and into the rotted stringer. the lag bolts will go thru the glass and new wood....and into the mush stringers.
do this on the top and bottom.
on the top ot the angle iron......mount your isolators.

re install motor......align the drive.....and go fishing for no more than 6 months....
unless your tansom is totally mush as well....this will hold you for a wee bit...but not long.

keep in mind....your boat is a hazzard......its more than likely rotten to the core.....and needs to come off the water.
however, fiberglass is waayyy stronger than people give it credit for.....and this quicky will work for a short amount of time till you rip er to the skin
take angle iron....at least 4 inch.....
