Read the codes?

So I'm looking into getting software to read the codes on my 2002 200hp ficht. 1st time doing this, is eBay the best place to buy this? Also is their a certain model number or something I should be looking for? Please help.

You can get the 'reader' version of the software online for free, someone on the forum has posted the link so you'd have to search for it. Then you need to build or buy the cable to connect your laptop to the engine, I bought one on ebay for $30, Evinrude Johnson BRP ETEC & Ficht Diagnostic Cable FFI, then you need a RS232 to USB connector

Guy on eBay has the whole thing brand new, however 1st it says 1992-2001 motors, then at the bottom says 2002 and older. I emailed him just waiting 4 a response.
