When we were kids Mum wouldnt let us watch Archie Bunker ( we did when we could ) but now that Im older and wiser I can see why ....the guy was a complete pig. I change channels now if he's on .

he was but that was the point. my parents would talk about why he was a pig so we understood. Over the years the character evolved as well.

Like many offensive humourists from the past, it shined a light. Norman Lear was known for those type shows. Pushing the limits.

Rape, racism, all of it on that show. All taboo subjects of the day.

You ever see Blazing Saddles?

Yep ,I got it (Blazing saddles ) on vhs and dvd .
My Mum wouldnt let us do anything she didnt like ....but we were gettin off light compared to Grandma ....who was something else when it came to expressing opinions about others way of life ......nobody was safe 😁😁. She was the spitting image of Grandma Walton, specially the tongue ...could have been sisters 😆
