It looks like a barrel on the stationary end. I see threads I think..
looks like one but not adjustable it is all one solid piece.. ran into that when looking to adjust my upper shift cable but didn't even think when i got to this one... there is a little nut at the front you can loosen and then spin the plastic part that the bolt goes through into the linkage. it hasn't been touched and used to work just great soo thnking a break somewhere but the cable moves with that whole piece so very confused

but if the cable is broken somewhere I shouldn't have been able to drive it at all and also doesn't explain why it was shaking. Feel like the black cloud that always used to hover over me has come back and there is multiple strange issues. hate to just throw money at it. But maybe new cable new plugs and cap. uhhhggg so frustrating

The question is,
Does the carb throttle plate move full open when the throttle handle is moved full forward?

when the throttle handle is moved full forward nothing happens. i have to go back and manually pull the cable forward

i need to get a helper to push the throttle while i watch i guess but putting it in full forward does not move the cable or the linkage at all that i can tell

always a silver lining lol. but that tells me maybe it was going out then possibly snapped at the last minute maybe? it moved. it shouldn't have moved if it was broken. I should have been stranded and thank goodness it did cause the waves picked up and was heading out into the big lake. and why the shake? misfiring too?? i want to put it on the muffs and see what happens and try to get a video but i'm by myself and don't want to be outside the boat if something start going crazy

So I was wrong. The throttle cable is moving just fine when i actually watch it.. Just didn't move very far I guess and thought it wasn't moving but it definitely is. I thought i moved forward but goes toward the back.. But yesterday when i was doing it manually a couple times it did squirt gas in and now it is not. cable goes all the way even pushes down the choke but no squirt lol. Flaps inside are definitely moving but can't see them well enough to know if its all the way or not

Cable is good, carb is empty of fuel due to other pumping of the throttle

Now were back to the motor and drive, bummer

The LTS is longer and goes deeper into the cylinder. They are used on vortec motors and are to long for non-vortec

Your motor is an '89. It is not Vortex. Vortex came out in mid '90's. Vortex heads are different and the longer reach is necessary to get the spark plug into the chamber. The pre-Vortex heads take ONLY the shorter MR43T. The LTS will hit the pistons.

I believe the LX versions of the motors was indicative of higher horsepower 4 barrel carb models. Non-LX being 2 barrel carbed motors.
