Question About Speedi-Sleeve Installation

I am currently resealing our Alpha One Gen 2 outdrive.
And I have ordered a Speedi-Sleeve for the yoke shaft surface.
Looking ahead, I am wondering how this sleeve gets installed.
It comes with an installation tool for driving the sleeve on.
But the protruding shaft spline will be in the way of that tool.
So will I need to drill a hole in the center of the installation tool.?
Or do you guys use some other pipe or tube to drive the sleeve on.?

I freeze the shaft and put the sleeve in the oven and heat to 350. Then drop on

So with this method, you don't need to drive it on at all.?
The video I saw from SKF said not to heat the sleeve.
They were concerned about it warping since it's so thin.
I do really like the idea of freezing the yoke hub though.
In my case, I'll need to freeze the entire universal joint.
Wife should love that. I'll seal it all up in a plastic bag first.

Ayuh,...... by using an oven, rather than a torch, it won't warp or deform,....

That does make sense...
So with this method, you don't need anything to drive it on.?
It seems like I will still need some way to carefully tap it on...

Ayuh,..... With the yoke frozen, 'n the sleeve at 350*, it should pretty much fall into place,....

I have a buddy who replaced his kitchen dishwasher.
The old one still worked fine, so he installed it in his shop.
It works great for cleaning all kinds of stuff.

OK. Sounds good. I will use that method.
What do you mean by "prep the tool"...?

I use the dishwasher on Fridays when I get home early to wash parts

I also use the oven to heat ring gears for flywheels and to heat carb parts for painting

Yep ,even heating and cooling the bits .......still pays to be ready to drive it on if you have to . Getting one stuck halfway on is pretty much a "cut it off and start again with a new sleeve "
There is a knack to doing these so dont be bummed out if you need 2 goes 🙂
