Re: Pulling Sea Ray 210 with Jetta TDI

when the Jetta owner needs a new trans because he toasted it pulling his 5200# of boat, trailer, and gear he will soon find out why you dont do it. I once saw a fiero 2M4 attempting to retrieve a 24' boat from the launch at Green Lake Wisconsin. when he got to the top of the ramp, the trans was toast and the motor was over heated. He said it worked to get it there other than skidding the brakes down the ramp and he couldnt understand why it failed to retrieve it. I attempted to educate him on gravity, mass, and the towing limit of a fiero, however the guy didnt get it. sounds like the Jetta guy doesnt either.

It might be legal to tow with the vehicle overloaded, but if he hit me with that crap by the time my lawyers got done with him I would have his boat, car, house, and everything penny he has to his name.

I saw a Jetta pulling a 210 Sea Ray yesterday.

Totally stupid on the road - totally funny on a steep slippery boat ramp. Grab the video camera Martha, that cars going in the water with the boat attached!!!
