Safe and happy boating always!!!
Wow, tell me about it. I wish I had a dollar for every time I've seen a perfecty good gonkulator replaced when the sydoflasm was the problem.

...And lord forbid you replace a perfectly good adjustment valve. The labor for that makes the replacement of a head gasket flange seem like child's play:eek:

Re: Prop Wash question

I found a Muffler Bearing for all of you non-believers. This company sells it:
http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3

They have blinker fluid for only 8.99!!!:); but they're sold out:(. They don't list a phone number so I can't find out when they'll have it in stock. Do you know of another source? I'm one of very few people in the south who actually uses my turn signals; so I know I'm gonna need the blinker fluid, but it's so hard to find. Maybe that's why most people around here seem to not use their turn signals. The fluid's empty and they can't replace it 'cause the auto parts stores never have any:mad:

Re: Prop Wash question

When I went in service they sent me to get some anti-thermal solution (ice water). Since my pop had been in for thirty two years I wasn't fooled.. I was gone for 4 hours... got back and told my CO that I couldn't find any locally and had to go to the lake to get some.. (Got a little fishing in too).. Hey he did say 'go find it' he didn't put any restrictions on it... :D

Re: Prop Wash question

When I was high school, MANY years ago, my girlfriend's headlight burned out. We were having dinner with her family and I told her that she just needed to stop at the autoparts store and pick up some headlight fluid. Her father backed me up, gave her $10, and told her to stop on her way home from school the next day. Needless to say we were both in a lot of trouble.

A few months ago the wife's volvo was having turn signal issues. With as straight a face as I could muster I told her she must be low on signal fluid but that she wasn't too low because the signal in question was working part of the time and the other three were still working normally. She actually bought it for a few minutes...I think I'm still in trouble for that one!

Is the yellow lab return spring the same as the black lab return spring? I need both. And an off switch for minnie aussie shepards would be nice too...

Re: Prop Wash question

on another thread a guy suggested using a round tuit--always a convenient part to have on hand.

I heard about a green Navy guy, who wondered why the ship (carrier) was still at the dock 4 hours after its announced deployment time. A junior officer sent him up to the bridge to offer the captain help finding the keys.

In my fire dept. it is common to send a rookie to look for the "hose stretcher" that is on one of the trucks...actually a good way to introduce them to all the various compartments and their contents. Also good for a chuckle.

Oh what fun...we'd send the new guy at the restaurant to go get the mail ( went to corporate ) and take down the flag ( only Perkins restaurants have flags around here, but you see them enough to question it and go look ). We'd send them to the basement, or out in back to get a bacon stretcher.

Print shop sent me to go get a paper stretcher ( didn't fall for it ) and some dot matrix solution ( fell for it for about a minute....long enough to walk around the corner ).

We used to send guys out to check for soft spots on the hulls of the APC's we worked on...sent them out with a brass hammer and some chalk and told them to put an 'X' where it sounded hollow. Of course, we also sent them out for a box of ground guides( ground guides being the person in the gunner seat walking in front of the vehicle to guide it thru a public area or to park ) and grid squares too.

Re: Prop Wash question

I keep hearing that Prop Wash is helpful when docking / manoeuvring.

  • Where can I buy some?
  • How much does it cost?
  • Is it easy to apply?
  • Does it take long to dry?

Very Very funny thread. All the replies are great. Well done marcoalza. You have made me laugh a lot.
Thread of the year 2010?:)
