Prop not turning

I have a Optimax 90 hp 2 stroke motor. I recently had to remove the lower end to replace a failed gasket. Once putting it back together, I’m finding that, while not running but putting the motor reverse the prop doesn’t move in either direction. If I put it in forward gear it spins forward with clicking noises. Is this normal? I didn’t check it before disassembling.
