Project boats

I just ran across this site, www.liquidationsale.biz. The place is in south Racine, WI and has many "diamonds-in-the-rough". I had a hard time deciding where to post this thread. It was a toss up between here and the "Ugliest Boat Contest".

How come all the aluminum classics are up in friggin Wisconsin? Lots of aluminum just waiting to be restored into beautiful boats again.

They are found up here because they are not run in salt and the season is so short they get wrinkles before they wear out.
