So. Its a 72 glastron skiflite. 14 foot. All original. Except for NOW the new suzuki outboard. And Bimini top. I started to weep as I screwed in the stainless hardware. But. I still have the 68 mercury 2 stroke and controls. And the carpet is velcroed down for easy removal if someone wanted a bare floor. Now it looks like a new NFB steering system is in order to make it steer. Keeping the original helm of course.

what speed do you expect from that 25?....I've got a friend who has a mid 60's aluminum, 14' v hull . Came with a 40hp later 60's merc (a 401?)....
He thinks he needs/wants a 40 4 stroke.....too heavy, I said.....I think the a 25 4 stroke ....maybe even a 20....would be perfect....
as long as it comes with power tilt/trim...

Idk maybe 20 to 25. Mine has power trim etc

Just want a reliable cruiser. After all it's just a 14 footer. But nostalgic to me.

his boat is a nostalgic boat also....he's not looking for speed....we're looking for opinions on what size motor will be able to put him on plane or not....
from people who are doing the same......
