I have a 67 fiberglass boat. I inherited it from my father. The transom will need redone in the future. Out of the boats I’ve seen my looks pretty simple. How much would you think this would cost to have professional done? I’ve never done it so I’m just gonna pay someone. I’m thinking around $3,000. What do y’all think?

$3000 in supplies to do it yourself, for a shop to do it, you gotta add a week or so of labor ( 40-100 hrs, depending ) at $100/hr.

It's not just the transom, you'll find the stringers and deck need replaced at the same time

On a 1967 boat, if the transom needs replaced, the stringers and deck needs it too. Transom ties into the knee braces, which ties into the stringers and the deck sits ontop of the stringers. They all rot at the same time and it's one big can of worms. The biggest expense is fiberglass supplies

If you just did the transom, you would be at $1,500 in materials give or take
