I have a mercury 3.0 with a two barrel carb . I was having a trouble taking off it would hesitation but then clear up. So I took it all apart rebuilt with all new parts but now at an idel it just dumps fuel in what might have I done wrong. I now get 5000rpm out of it from 4700 no more hesitation but can not let idle.

Carb rebuild (?) gone wrong with mis adjusted float height possible.

What is "I now get 5000rpm out of it from 4700" ?

I mean I was only getting 4700 rpm out of engine and now I get 5000rpm. Found the problem the parts such as float needle and main jet was all too big. I had to put old parts back in.

Glad it's sorted out, shame having to re used used old worn out parts.

5000 rpm is too much for your drive. Verify engine rpm with a shop tach and compare to dash tach/existing equipment

Did you buy cheap Sierra parts or quality carb parts?
