I understand the word "hypocritical" to mean behavior contradictory to one's stated values. I don't understand your use of it in this context.

Note that there is no fetus at the time of fertilization - it's a fertilized egg, called a zygote. The ratio of live births to zygotes is about 20%. Until about nine weeks after fertilization, there is no fetus, and even then, no one knows what it will be, as the ratio of fetuses to live births is less than 100%.

I would consider it wrong to terminate a "life" at any stage...but only after it becomes "a life." But that's just my own morality. I don't see the state as having an interest in protecting it until it becomes a "person."

Or is it a sin if a women does not have sex so as to give the egg an opportunity to grow up and be president of the USA.

I was almost a "potential person" glad my mother made me a real one. At a certain point it is not a potential it is a person long before it comes out of the womb. removing a mass of cells in the early stages of pregnacy ok removing something that looks like a child not shuch a good idea

Yep I remember thoes days, I thik JB was on that the other day.
I have always dodged this Issue. I dont know what to make of it. Its more of a womans issue, that I dont feel qualified to have an opinion on. I understand the arguements, I just guess Ill leave it up to her and whatever god she deals with. Looks kind like to me If a woman were an athiest, No problem for her, but then the gov. is sticking thier nose in it. I dunno the answer.

When I speak against laws limiting women's rights, I am labeled a liberal.

When I speak against taxation and welfare, I am labeled an uncaring Republican.

When I speak for freedom of speech, the liberals call me a Nazi and the conservatives call me a liberal, because I'm for the right to speech when it involves "hate" speech as well as when it involves something offensive to most Republicans.

Bunch of hypocrites, all of them.

If you were to visit China or India, you might understand their belief that almost ANY method of limiting population growth is acceptable.

Even Haught is thinking of voting for Jeb Bush just because he dont wont to vote the way Tx. votes. ;) :D :p

At least that carries more thought. I'd rather have a debate from a thoughtful position than a recited old party line.

I am a registered Republican. I voted against GW twice last two times. Once in each primay and once in each general election. Now he is President and the congress is republican, all must be well in our country.

Where am I really probably liberal republican, conservative democrat. Actually mostly States rights heck Texas should have never joined the union.

Abortion legality ain't no body in Washingtons business, leave it to us in our home state. Death penalty no business in DC we can handle it just fine our way in Texas. And on and on. If it were up to me we would reform under the Articles of Confederation and use the fed just to protect the states as a whole from other countries only. Oh well my day has long past.

Heycods do not let this thread die with0out making 100.

You sound like a libertarian. Maybe you should consider voting accordingly.

Txs, you really are something else.

Just when I think you are a lost cause, you go and say something is so profound and that I agree with...except, in this case, I think we could do well with the Constitution if we just followed it as it was written and intended to be followed. Not sure we could have (or could not have, in all honesty) survived under the Articles of Confederation.

But I am still startled at your comment.

"...as it was written and intended to be followed...." Hence, the existence of the Supreme Court. Since, with so many Americans, and not all agreeing on the "intentions," we use the method specified by the Constitution itself.
