It should have a poppit valve. Look up the exploded parts diagrams at crowleymarine.com

The plastic thermostat capsules are also the spring loaded relief valves. Remove the plastic cap, 13/16" hex - same as a sparkplug, and you will see the spring, capsule, and rubber seal.
