Pre Alpha Sterndrive Mercruiser 165 inline 6 Trim Sender Unit

Still working, and probably will be working, on my 1971 Glastron Mercruiser 165 inline 6, I believe I have a pre alpha unit. Wires to Trim Sender corroded, broken sheathing, in horrible condition. Took outdrive off, will replace all belows, water hose, etc. Serial number, as best I could find, is 3078952 on the sterndrive. In reseaching I see that my trim sending unit is NLA. Is this true? How will I replace this unit is so? Could I just replace the bad wires, I know your suppose to replace the switches too, but what if you cant find them. Also, where is the switch located on this sterndrive? I cant seem to find a answer in my Seloc manual.

If yer parts are Nla,...
Ya make do without, or cobb together whatever suits ya....

You either have the pucks on the sides of the steering ring or you have a hyd sender unit inside the boat

I have no visable pucks on the gimbal, the wires from the inside of the boat go thru to the transom, so would the trim sender unit be located in the transom?

those may be the trim limit if they come in at the top of the housing.The hyd.actuator is mounted at the transom.bondo, you have the link for manual 2, thats the one I used on cd and may be for this persons boat.

See if the lines from the pump go to a switch *** on the transom inside the if so it's hydralic
