Prayers needed please ...

Guys my brother Bert and his wife Janet are battling Covid . Both in the hospital . Janet seems to be getting better but my brother has had a rough time . He is in the ICU . Yesterday he had a lung collapse so they had to put a tube in . I believe he was just about to go on a ventilator when that happened . Our information is limited and we cant visit them .. Waiting on word how he is doing now ..
We feel so helpless to be able to do anything . All we can do is pray he pulls through this .
He is a stubborn old guy so I know he's putting up a good fight .
Any prayers sent down this way would be a blessing ..

My old shipmate and his wife caught covid and she was ok but he had a hard time but did make it. His brother wasn't as lucky and didn't make it

Thank you everyone . The word as of last night is Janet is doing fairly well and my brother is doing a tad better .. He was able to keep his mask off for about 2 hours .. The collapsed lung has resolved ,not sure what that means ,but they are keeping the chest tube in for now .. We really hope this is a turn in a good direction for him .. As of yesterday he was not put on the ventilator .. I hope it stays that way ..

It's hard enough to be sick and scared, but even worse to be sick, scared and alone. And then family can't get in to see, understand and comfort. Really tough for all of you Sam. Will be praying for quick and full recovery.

Had a step forward then a big step back . Yesterday was a good day with his O2 levels in the 90's then today in the low 70's . They have him on anesthesia and put him on a ventilator today .. xrays everyday while he is on it .
Nothing we can do but pray and wait .

I have been where you are, Sam. All I can tell you is at this time don’t get too excited about the “good” news and don’t get too freaked out by the bad. Each case seems to be different, but they all seem to be a roller coaster. I am still praying for your brother and for the whole family.

As 'Speck said, don't let the highs get too high and the lows too low. You want a good walleye chop but not whitecaps. Praying for everyone, hang in there....

Thanks musky .. did get update a little while ago .
He is doing good today with the 02 and ventilator pressure.
They adjusted slightly downward.. Kidney function is the latest concern .. Working on a delicate balance between fluid level that,s ok for both lungs and kidneys . He appears to be comfortable and isnt fighting the ventilator.
Janet is back on high flow oxygen today as a precaution .. She has her own battle plus the worrying about Bert . It has to be really tough on her ..
We all are just praying they get out of this thing together ..
