You know KB a prayer list on here is a wonderful idea. What about it, let's add as needed:

KB's Mom Help her healing from this new disease she is facing.

txs Mom 76 yo, in hospital for pneumonia and emphsema, in rehab for one more week

Please add your friends and love ones.

Re: Prayer List

Coming your way TX.
I feel good, all is ok right now in the SBN household, but know that if I need it, it is just a keystroke away.

Re: Prayer List

KB and Txs you know you have our prayers and best wishes too.

I have never asked for a prayer before, but I am now. Our grandson was just diagnosed with Transient Tourettes Syndrom. He's an extremely bright seven year old with a very outgoing personality.

Please pray that his ticks don't get any worse and keep him from living life so different from his peers that he feels like he doesn't fit in.

I feel a bit selfish for asking, but if you knew him like we do, you'd feel just as helpless.

Re: Prayer List

Thanks QC.

There are treatments but no known cure. The treatment is either Prozac or blood pressure medication which will lessen the affects only. They will not medicate him more than likely because its transient for the time being. This came on him within the last year or so and has progressively gotten worse.

Re: Prayer List

"One of the worst aspects of this condition is the lack of public awareness of it and the unjustified and hurtful blaming of innocent patients for behavior not of their making." - Dr. Donohue, heraldtribune.com
My prayers for patience and understanding. People can be cruel. Especially, those who know the least.

Re: Prayer List

Thank you Techno, thats exactly the problem. I don't want kids or parents either thinking he is retarded or slow, its just not the case. The truth is that the brain sends too many messages all at once to different parts of the body and the body just gets overloaded with information. Kids at school can be extremely mean, its my biggest worry for him.

Re: Prayer List

LadyFish, Nothing selfish about asking for prayer, it is the simplest method of loving each other we have, and I am convinced the very best. Would you share his first name with us, not prying just more personal. My Mom is called Punk.

Re: Prayer List

LF
my daughter suffred through school with a bipolar and add problem, by the 8th grade her impulsive reactions to outside stimuli mandated my wife (now x) had to home school her. the next year she wanted to go back to public school. worked out almost, about that time the Ex quit her meds, the 11th and 12th grade years were very good. kids are about the cruelest beings on the planet.
my nephew suffers from a missing chromeasome diesises. he is severly retarded. Dr's did not think he would live past age two.
he will be 9 in the spring. I never admitided the power of prayer but for christian I cant find another answer.
he cannot see well, cannot do much for himself, just this year he is about potty trained, he is bigger than most 9 yera olds yet cannot do much on his own. he cannot "speak" but he has a vocabulary of about 50 sounds.
he love music and has picked up some tunes he likes to play on the piano.
my oldest sis and I are not physically close but when I go to yamaha schools I stay with them.
I asked her one day how could she handle that burden.
she said two things, prayer and teaching.
her and christian spent many hours at various schools telling middle and high school students about mental health issues.
its the only way you can help him.
not only can kids be the cruelest beings on the planet they actually have the capacity to be the most compassonate.
I spent 2 years almost everyday being involved with my daughter in school and after school projects. once the kids understood her problems and we had some question and ansew sessions it was good.
so my prayers go out but you have a long hard row to hoe but if you do it right the youth of today will amaze you

It was going to be after the holidays but they told her today that she could be "fit in".

All of us and our Mammas. We must be mammas boys huh.
