Can anyone help me out on the correct way I can test my power packs ? All I have is a ohm meter I don't have a neon tester like the book is telling me so what is the best way to test ?

Ok further reading looks like to test my power packs all I need to do is disconnect number 6 and 11 set my meter to high and note the reading but what am I looking for does the boat need to be running or just the power on ect.....

ok guys need help again with this.Today what was done replaced the stator and still no difference i still have full throttle but after she comes off plain i lose the power she will drop from 5k to 4 than bounce between 3 and 4 than finally stay at 3. Also today i did test the power packs diodies per the book with a ohm meter they both were good,also did test the timer base with a ohm meter and that turned out good can someone plz tell me wat the heck this can be now. Should i just replace the power packs or coils or both lost now on this problem.

Thanks to all for the help sorry for the run around with this but it's fixed. Had a little piece of hose or plastic in the fuel jet of the carb.... Going to post a picture in a bit.
