This is an Ottawa River grass pike that my friend had to pull out of the water because HE forgot the net. I told him that he would be my net for the day. He said (Talking trash as we often do) that I wouldn't be catching anything anyway... so he agreed!
I have no idea exactly how big it was. We were so excited and concerned about making a successful release, we neglected to measure it. I can tell you that it bottomed out our 25lb scale.
5:30am July 14th. 25 minutes to land him on 15lb test with a small top water popper. 20 minutes to revive her to the point where she pulled away from me with good power.
