In this day and age 640 X 480 is extremely small. I realize larger images bring the scroll bars for some users with lower resolution monitors. I already dumb down my pics to 800 X 600 for other forums. I don't want to dumb them down even more just for this site. I have noticed on some other forums they resize the images for display just on that site. In other words my image is still 800 X 600 in photobucket but it displays at a lower resolution on their forum.

Here is an example. If you look through the pics in my thread over on VJB you will see a yellow banner that says "Click here to view original image..."
21' Daytona winter fresh up.

Can iBoats look into this as a possible solution? I want to post pics of my work but I don't want to reduce the images further just for this site.

Thanks,
Matt

Did you use the URL picture method? I think it takes the image as is . . . 800x600 is definitely becoming more the norm, once you get to 1024x768, then the image is starting to get towards the lower screen resolutions.

Re: Possible Picture sizing solution

I did use the URL method @ VJB.

I have used thumbnails here in the past. I post my work on several other sites that allow the 800 X 600 image size. I can't copy and paste if I need to use thumbs here. If I use thumbs on the other sites I don't get as much feedback. The thumbnails are so small they are hard to make out on higher res monitors. Many people will not click thumbs to see the larger image.

I understand the need for the smaller size here. It just seems like there is a better solution out there. I have seen other sites handle it the same way VJB does. iBoats has a lot of traffic. I want to post my progress here. I want the feedback from this community. There is a ton of knowledge here. They can help me avoid mistakes if I can get their eyes on my project and maybe I help someone else down the road with my solutions. I know I am not the only one frustrated with posting pictures here. It is so much easier on all the other sites I visit.
