poor spark from coil,not running, intermittant spark

Just repaired a volvo v8 with a no run condition. The coil laminations got corroded and rusted and expanded to destroy the coil. The plugs would not fit correctly. Standard products make a replacement coil for $26 or there abouts. Grind and remove the rivets and attach the bracket to the new coil with 8-32 bolts and nuts, re-install and your running.
Sure beats the VP price

I've replaced my stock VP distributor cap with a $10 Standard Products cap.
The original cap lasted one season.
The $10 cap hasn't failed me yet.
