Ok agressive plan for after work. I need to make all of the wiring connections, install the seats, install the control box, and run the outboard. If I can get that done tonight, I'm gonna try and put her in the water tomorrow to give her a test run. The cosmetic stuff won't be done, but all of the mechanical/electrical we be officially compleated.

She hit the water for the first time this weekend as part of her "sea trial". I figured I'd get the mechanical and electrical done and not worry about the cosmetics until later. Things went pretty well for her first time out. A couple of issues did arise. The first was the fact she only got up to about 4000 rpm at WOT and about 32mph. But as I learned a little later my trim motor stopped working so I wasn't able to fully optimize and get her lined out well on a plane.

So here are some pics of how she looks right now. Keep in mind I still have a lot of sanding and painting to do, as well as upholstery.

I fixed my trim problem. After a quick search of the threads I started troubleshooting the electrical system. What I found was the connection from the terminal block to the motor had the typical fouling on the copper. I used some contact cleaner spray and cleaned them as best I could. Then I applied dielectric grease to the female side of the connection. When I tried it again everything worked.

FBPirate95,

I recently acquired a 1977 Marquis. Its about 18', it says Caribbean on the glove box, and hyrdo-seal on the side of the boat. I know nothing about this boat and don't know the model and can't find much about it on the internet. I figured since you had a similar boat you would know something about mine?

Thanks
