I think I will use this.

Use forum10 as a discount code. May also want to join the forum pontoonforums.com if you are going to use that code in case they ask.

I have purchased many things from pontoonstuff.com. They stand by you in case you have an issue.

Haha so I'm more confused than when I started now. Fishrdan would the gander mountain stuff need to be sealed? The reason for silicone is its vapor permeable so it will let moisture out if it find's it's way into the wood.

CCA treated plywood will have preservative all the way through, so it will kill anything that tries to eat (rot) the wood. I wouldn't add anything else, use the CCA plywood as-is.

The plywood from Pontoonstuff and Gander Mountain's plywood could be the exact same thing, from different manufacturers. If they are the same price, I would go with Pontoonstuff as they specifically call out that it's CCA treated.

If you can, find a local place to save on shipping.

I don't know if there is truth to this or not, but I've seen people on pontoon specific pages advising against CCA, because the treatment can react with, and corrode the aluminum. Any truth to this?

CCA is safe with aluminum, ACQ treated wood will eat aluminum.

ACQ is the stuff readily available at big box stores, CCA is banned and hard to find.

Good to know. I didn't know it was banned though? Quick google search turns up multiple places to buy it?

Guys I need help, I just started the tear down. It appears the existing rotted wood is two layers thick? Do I need to put two layers back on or is a single layer of 3/4" marine grade thick enough ?

CCA is banned in most homowber/consumer products like 2x4s and 4x4s for deck. CCA still exists and us legal for commercial applications . Like some outdoor stuff, light poles dock piles and marine ply. ACQ sucks and rots after 6 ro 10 years CCA lasts almost forever. I have CCA talented non ground contact 2x4s laying on the ground for 10 years and just barely have termites running through the pit part of the board.

Just so you know I am a forester with a wood products Minor as well. I know a few things and a few folks in the industry.
