Hello, Ive got problems. Just got this old 90 24' pontoon with a 115 evinrude on the back. Took her out on the water and at level trim the prop doesnt get any traction the second you touch the throttle and it just "slips out" The only way to go faster than 5mph is to trim all the way down to the point where the engine is -4" level, then the bow of the boat is just inches from the water waiting to get swamped from waves. Gets up to 24mph like this. My question is my motor way to low? After doing some digging it seems I need to have the cavitation plate an inch or so bellow the water level and from looking at my photos its like 10" below sitting water level.
